"After Ever After (title): Finding and Keeping the Love of a Lifetime(subtitle)"
After Ever After is a "How-to" book about finding and keeping the love of a lifetime. This book reveals the secrets of evaluating whether or not the person you are dating is the right fit for you, how long you should wait to jump in bed with him or her, what your wedding should look like and how to keep that marriage forever.
The goal of the book is to stand out on the Amazon platform as a small thumbnail as well as a 5.5x8.5 book with 72" spine.
The imagery should make the viewer feel that the book (and the author) is the mentor/guru on the topic of dating, match making, love and commitment.
The reader should feel that they must have this book if they are tired of the pain of dating, breaking up, multiple partners, putting themselves out there again and again only to meet shmucks, users and partners that just aren't a good fit. They should feel they must have this book if they are ready to move on, find a great lover, and form a fantastic partnership that lasts forever. It's more important that the book "pops off the shelf" or stands out and catches the eye quickly.
The most important part of the design is that it sells, not that it looks pretty or is well-designed. I am open to any image or illustration that you choose.
Images and illustrations that come to my mind are: 1) A couple holding hands standing at the precipice of a cliff preparing to jump 2) the back of Cinderella's wedding carriage faded in the background so it' very subtle.
Images that I want to avoid are romantic and christian cliches like hearts, wedding dresses, wedding flowers, cupid, crosses, etc...
Here are a few more words that come to mind when thinking of my book: Love, passion, joy, commitment, warm, safe, cozy, complete, whole, partnership, companion, keeping it real, fulfillment, peace, content, done with the game and games, great sex, communication, heart to heart, trust.
I like a bold color palette. I like bold titles that are easy to read, immediately catch your attention so you know right away what the title is and what the book is about. Simple color schemes, 2-3 colors.
Titles I like the covers for:
Love Yourself Like You Life Depends on It by Kamal Ravikant
How to Love Yourself by Jonathan Poon
Hold Me Tight by Sue Johnson
Self Love by Amber Janae
Love Beyond Time by Hannah Raybans
The Self Esteem Workbook by Jamie Lavell
Be Love by Tiffany A. Wright
Please use my descriptions, images, etc... not literally, but as a guide for your creativity. In other words, feel free to be creative.
