We are looking to blend the confidence brought through classical educational imagery (shield, torch, etc.) with elements of gaming (dice) and whimsey and wonder (iconic cartoon-style characters, etc.). The logo should appeal to both children and to their parents, as well as potential donors.
UPDATE: On discovery of the designs that have been contributed so far, I am finding I am being moved more by the mature abstract designs with less going on, but a strong brand message of responsibility as well as a bit of playfulness. While I am open to someone getting my initial ideas *right*, and I'm totally seeing the effort going in, perhaps a less cartoony style is what's working better. I am thinking that I may have to have an organizational brand which is more serious, and a co-brand, or sub-brands I can use for kids.
ALSO - to be clear, we do not work with computer games, so any designs that highlight controllers, joysticks, digital effects, etc. are off target. We use tabletop role-playing games (think Dungeons and Dragons, etc.)
