Inedo Media Client: Slickedit
We handle all the ads on software/tech sites The Daily WTF/Stack Overflow.
This banner will be for one of our most loyal advertisers, Slick Edit (http://www.slickedit.com/).
**This banner will specifically be a part of a temporary promotion for them as a part of their over-all ad campaign with us so NO NEED for the banner to capture the look and feel of their site/branding. It can be radically different if well done.
For inspiration, check out the differences between Sourcegear's company site and summer campaign (banner can't be uploaded but looks very similar to landing page):
http://www.sourcegear.com/ company site
http://sourcegear.com/fortress/stackoverflow/ landing page (specific to SO though they ran this same banner/landing page combo on several sites).
Software developers, any kind. Specifically the diligent and talented ones reading Stack Overflow or The Daily WTF
banner size is 728x90. If you do animation or flash, be prepared to also submit a good static version.
Here's some copy to play with:
"SlickEdit Cash for Clunky Editors Program!
If the editor you purchased is lacking the speed, power, and flexibility SlickEdit provides…trade it in for CASH towards SlickEdit. Call 1-800-934-EDIT (3348) or email sales@slickedit.com, and mention the Cash for Clunky Editors Program to learn about the savings. The program expires on September 30th, 2009, so act quickly."
Overall, we want this banner to have a "hot off the presses"/ news headline feel to it. To receive this discount the reader MUST call or email (preferably call) so this info can be in the banner but not mandatory. This same copy will be prominent on the landing page so you may want to just make it look like an important update and use the "SlickEdit Cash for Clunky Editors Program!" Really, the banner just needs to be compelling enough to create attention/desire to click on it.
the landing page for this campaign will be a modified version of this:
