Design a quirky character for an educational game

The product is a text based educational game where the players learn correct English grammar, in a theme that's a mix of medieval times (fightinga war against grammar errors) and technology, the target audience is 13-35 in terms of age, and people that are relatively tech savvy

The character's name is Squire (if you're not familiar with the term, it's a knight's personal assistant, like Podrick in Game of Thrones). The Squire helps the player answer questions and learn about English grammar. We're aiming at a cute, fun and feisty character, that can be a human, animal or an inanimate object that relates to writing (pen, pencil, English letters, quill etc.). We're aiming for a minimalist design without too much detailing. A nice touch would be having the character wield writing utensils as weapons.

Try to be quirky, have fun, and please try to include multiple drawings to depict different emotions - especially happiness, anger, pride, smugness and even bitchiness. We will most probably contact the winner in the future for additional designs with the character.
