Beautiful Simple User-Friendly Design Needed

We aim to offer a knowledge center and the ability to choose quotes for auto/car insurance, other types of insurance, mortgages and bank/credit card information.

Right now we only basically have a logo and a simple landing page that sucks.

We want a simple page with not too many distractions. Feel free to play around with my logo / instructions and do not copy any of the other sites or your design won’t get picked. Basically take the instructions with a grain of salt.. we want to see a creative, simple, usable and beautiful site.

Target audience is ages 18-50+, 10-60k income range, slightly skewed female and can be any race.

Homepage:
Looking for a design with a homepage (aka home.php) that has a simple top navigation with the logo on the left side.

The homepage will also need to have a landing page with a simple zip code form (no need to code it) and a submit button and plenty of attention towards this form. This must be above the fold so it should be right under the navigation / logo.
Also on the homepage we need 3 columns below the main banner.

Below that should be a footer with 2 rows, one for additional content and the bottom row will be the typical “privacy policy | home page | etc…”

Detail Pages:
These will have a sidebar like here for example, but go wild if it doesn’t look right: http://www.ratemarketplace.com/insurance/
Additionally, there should be a form + banner over each detail page that is a smaller version of the zip code submission on the home page (example http://www.insuranceagents.com/articles.html). The rest of the content below this should be nicely formatted.

-Navigation categories:
Home, Auto, Business, Health, Home, Life, Bank Rates, Credit Cards, Mortgage, Resources

-Expansion of navigation to include new sections is necessary and the ability to add submenus when you hover over them similar to ratemarketplaces.com navigation but I want the simplicity of hometownquotes.com.

-For the detail pages include a search / mailing list box on the sidebar
