Illustration to appeal to University grads

This is a postcard that is being sent to newly graduated University College students with their bachelor degree. Majority of the audience will be in their early 20s.

The Junior Common Room is a space in University College and many students study there all the time - it is a space close to their hearts. We wanted to maybe have drawing of a student or students studying in the Junior Common Room. We were thinking if it's easier we could use a photo of the space as a background and only draw the student for a cool 'pop' OR digitally create or illustrate the whole image. A reference photo of the space will be provided. There needs to be diversity reflected in the students so it will accurately reflect the student population at UC. The design will be used on the front of a 5 x 7" postcard.
