Romantic Sketch Art for Book Cover

We publish fiction novels, primarily of the romance genre.

We are looking for a sketch that can be turned into a book cover. Based on the nature of the artwork, we decided to propose a sketch first as we haven't had success with finding artists who can create the images needed. The main characters are of two different races - Black/African American (Taryn) and White/Caucasian (Asher). We would like the sketch to reflect a specific scene from the book: Taryn, in an attempt to escape a dangerous situation, leaves through the bedroom window of the old Victorian home where she lives. Taryn then falls, and Asher catches her. A few symbols from this specific book are crows, the Victorian home, and moonlight. The genre is paranormal romance with both modern (2021) & historical elements from the U.S. Civil War (1861 - 1865). The attached photos are to help with visualizing the characters' aesthetic and to offer any inspiration we can. However, the following must remain constant: Female - Brown skin, dark hair, dark eyes, nightgown Male - Light skin, dark hair, light eyes (will be blue), dark outfit (Previously, we had clean-shaven, but we’ve decided to okay facial hair.) Setting - Middle of the night Varied art styles are welcome, but we do require more realistic than abstract due to the nature of the industry :-) Good luck, and we look forward to seeing your submissions! -Sage Hill Books

The aim is to continue working with the winning designer(s) in order to create the full image that will make up the cover. We would like someone who will be able to develop the sketch further.
