SeaPort Airlines is Desperately Seeking Sasquatch. As our airline call sign is Sasquatch, corporate headquarters are in Portland, Ore., and we provide air service to many rural communities across the US, it makes sense for us to incorporate a Sasquatch mascot. We’re searching for a graphic representation of the elusive entity that has been dashing about our brains for the past few months – Roger the Sasquatch. For more information about our company, please visit www.SeaPortAirlines.com. Roger is a fun, hip, and modern Sasquatch, appealing to adults and young adults, but he’s also kid-friendly – not scary at all. Think friendly and more confident than your typical Bigfoot – like a pilot. He is a Sasquatch of the long-haired kind; you’d never mistake him for an ape, but you’d also never mistake him for Chewbacca. Look to the old Seattle Sonics “Squatch” mascot for some inspiration, or perhaps Harry from Harry and the Hendersons. Roger’s bio is as follows: "Roger Sasquatch, Chief Inspiration Officer: Roger is a member of the SeaPort Airlines team, providing inspiration for our belief that great airline customer service really is more than a mythical creature and, in the right environment and cared for by the right team of employees, can do more than just survive but prosper. The company has immortalized Roger’s contribution to “The SeaPort Experience” by adapting his family name as the call sign used to identify all SeaPort Airlines flights during communication with air traffic control (i.e., “Sasquatch 4121, turn left heading 180”). His commitment to the success of SeaPort is underscored by the fact that, despite his intense phobia of cameras, Roger has agreed to represent our company during community events and promotional activities across our route system. Roger was less than cooperative in the preparation of this profile, arguing that the aura of mystery surrounding him plays well with the ladies. However, Roger is believe to be a native of the Pacific Northwest based largely on his inability to get a respectable sun tan and hobbies that include hikes in the woods, teasing photographers, watching documentary television programs that include fictional reenactments and eyewitness descriptions, and relieving campers of delicious treats they would otherwise be required to carry out from their campsite (he only does this when confident that the bears will take the heat). He is also an avid traveler, having been sighted from the forests of Arkansas, in the mountains of Oregon and Washington, and even as far north as Glacier Bay National Park. " Roger will work to help create interesting marketing campaigns for SeaPort Airlines, appearing in marketing collateral, digital media, printed media, contests, and more. We’d like to see Roger in three outfits – in a standard pilots shirt (with epaulets, tie and wings with the SeaPort “birds” pinned to him), wearing a t-shirt with the SeaPort Airlines logo across the front, and in a “vintage” pilot outfit with vintage goggles, leather jacket, and a scarf. We’d also like to see him represented as “all fur”, if you know what I mean – a “template” Roger with no outfit. Our PMS colors are attached, which we'd like to see used for Roger's outfits. Please keep in mind that we’d like Roger to eventually evolve into a mascot costume as well, so the graphic representation should make this transition easy. Designs submitted with multiple images of Roger in the outfits described and in different poses will have greater weight in the consideration process – e.g. Roger facing forward with arms at sides, Roger waving, Roger looking up, Roger running, Roger cheering, Roger marshalling in a plane, etc. We’d like to have the representations of Roger in a couple different file formats, including at least one vector and one raster image, and one file that is in an editable format. The images should be high-quality and large enough to be represented on a full page or larger without any pixilation, but also work as a smaller image. Roger should look great whether he is being viewed on a screen (digitally) or printed out on paper. Please keep in mind that SeaPort is looking for a digital graphic representation, not a sketch or drawing, painting or photograph. This should be a 2-D rendering.

We really would like a cool, fun & somewhat cute Sasquatch to represent SeaPort, and I'm looking forward to seeing everyone's really great ideas! If you have the time, I recommend doing a little research on other airlines'/travel industry mascots, like the Porter raccoon or Hipmunk chipmunk.
