3D Build Planner - http://www.3dbuildplanner.com
Hi All - We're a new Canadian software firm, and our product is an application that makes planning a backyard wood project as much fun as building it. Our software lets users choose from their own selection of wood and visualize the project as they put it together.
Details such as measurements, joint spacing, lumber pieces, and fasteners are all tracked automatically to make the whole planning phase a lot more predictable and fun. Wood usage is optimized so we try to reduce any waste (and money) for our customers.
Our web site offers tips, tricks, useful articles, and will be a community driven source for shared projects and designed components.
Please see the intro video on our site (http://www.3dbuildplanner.com) for a quick 2 minute demo.
We expect to target the do-it-yourself home handy-person, who builds occasional fences, decks, play structures, sand boxes, maybe shelving, boat docks, etc.
They're likely in their 20s to 50s, have some experience with a computer and know generally what they want to build, but don't want to bother pulling out the calculator to do it. They'd rather have fun planning the project, and show it off to the community when they're done.
They'd like to see a logo that's impressive, reflects some bit of 3D nature, but doesn't go too overboard, this crowd still appreciates some amount of simplicity and professionalism.
We'd like to stick somewhat to the main colors on the current logo, green and blue to integrate it back into the site.
Clean easy to read fonts, nothing too fancy or intricate. No cartoons.
We're open to how the '3D' portion could be presented, would be interesting to see some combination of 3D graphic alongside some simpler text, almost like a YouTube or other web2.0 logos.
With regard to a color background, would be interesting to see both with and without, as the logo will likely go on the current web site with 'forest' background and might get washed out without a background?
The logo should say "3D Build Planner" along with a smaller tagline "more fun planning, more fun building" below if it fits, we're not sure.
We'd like to get file formats:
Print file format - .ai (CMYK)
Web file format - .jpg and layered .psd (RGB)
Please do not use any stock images or clip art in the logo
Thank-you everyone and good luck!!!
