"14clouds", "14clouds.com" or "14 Clouds", not sure yet - you decide!
I'm a programmer who got tired of working on other people's stuff. I started this company to build really cool web apps for small businesses, who are used to being abused by massive internationals. I'm using a powerful language (Clojure, a Lisp for the JVM) and a rebel database (CouchDB) to make me more productive and keep things flexible.
We're targeting small to mid-sized businesses who are used buying enterprise software through resellers (CRMs, ERPs, etc). They're forced to install this expensive software on their own infrastructure and work through the partners/resellers for support/maintenance/customization issues.
Our company is building hosted (hence the cloud) software to target these companies. Our initial product is a web store which integrates with their enterprise accounting system.
The only requirement is that the logo is acceptable within the corporate world; I don't want anything that would raise eyebrows when a CIO passes the CEO our product brief, so nothing cute/childish/cartoony/etc.
I guess just keep in mind our core product: lightweight hosted web apps for small businesses. Otherwise I'm looking to you guys for all the creativity.
FYI, the 14 in "14clouds.com" is the atomic number of silicon:
