GNG is a faith-based organization located in Hillsboro, Ohio, a rural community situated in southern Ohio. It has been in existence for seventeen years and has grown from a small gathering of 10-20 like-minded individuals. This small group, which sought to do church differently in order to reach broader audiences, has grown to a booming congregation averaging over 600 people each Sunday in the past year. GNG has matured from a strictly volunteer framework meeting in rented facilities to a sophisticated operation including personnel, a solid leadership team, locally and regionally renowned praise/worship band, and an amazing worship center complete with theater-style seating, café, and children’s center.
Among the community, GNG is frequently regarded as an unconventional “church” in terms of its mission, contemporary programming, disposition toward those who don’t know Christ, emphasis on service to the poor and underrepresented, and accepted casual attire juxtaposed with a firm, unwavering belief in the Bible as God’s holy word.
GNG exists to develop seekers into fully functioning followers of Christ and bases this on Matthew 28:19-20:
"Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."
GNG’s aim is to reach un-churched or de-churched individuals and develop them into Christians who know Christ, strive to grow in His word, serve others, and share the good news. This is accomplished largely through the deliberate effort to create a welcoming and inviting atmosphere for people who otherwise may never be caught dead in church.
The critical success of GNG rests on everyone being involved, everyone connected, and everyone reached. This is accomplished in part by participation in targeted outreach events, highly structured children’s programming, personal support groups or “LifeGroups” as they are called at GNG, exceptional delivery of the message, unparalleled worship band, and cutting edge staging. The values guiding our success include:
1. Grace- Each member accepting God’s grace and extending it to others.
2. Outreach – Each member developing Christ’s passion for the lost.
3. Growth – Each member developing Christ-like priorities, character and actions.
4. Groups – Each member engaging in authentic community.
5. Service – Each member engaging in gift-based, team oriented service.
6. Excellence – Each member giving their very best to God.
The existing GNG logo has served its purpose for many years however, lacks consistent implementation and is ready for renewal particularly as GNG ventures into significant web upgrades and a more aggressive social media presence.
