The brand is to be: “Dogs do travel”
The business purpose is to tap into the trend for dog owners who increasingly want to take their pets with them on trips and holidays, days out etc rather than leave them at home or in kennels. We will provide products and services for dogs to help them and their owners enjoy travelling more – making travelling with your dogs relaxing, fun and safe. – strap line idea is around ‘The easy way to travel with your best friend’/ ‘Taking your best friend wherever you go’. We do not want the strapline on the logo.
Ideas for products are various and include travel seat protectors for cars, travel bowls, toys, travel food for dogs etc. We hope to have articles and create a community feel to it.
Target audience: anyone who owns a dog that needs or wants to take it with them and those who are thinking about buying a dog, and those who want to buy travel gifts for dog owners
Values to communicate with your design: Fun, friendship, bonding with dogs, safety. We’d like a logo to convey a sense of travel for dogs, but also the sense of fun and having your companion with you on the go. It’s not just about taking your dog on longer trips like holidays but every day experiences too.
Stylistic preferences: we need something contemporary and an up market feel to the branding. Quality, striking, memorable, not favouring any particular breed/type of dog. clear, clean simple. Ideally conveying movement/travelling
Colours: Blue (picking up sky blue holiday feel) and green. Please note the logo will also need to act as branding on items and white laellilng items so having a coloured background wont work.
Design guidance: We are thinking of one option being silhouettes or drawings of different dog breeds walking conveying the notion of travel perhaps With the words DOGS DO TRAVEL suitably prominent. We don’t want a cheap cartoon feel or anything too subliminal either
One issue we are wrestling with is that this is not just about holidays but about taking your dog out in the car, images of dogs with suitcases may narrow the message to holidays with dogs rather than travelling with dogs.
