We're leaning toward a bright theme, bold and engaging. "Nova" from the name could allude to both a burning star and something new.
Marketing language will emphasize teaching in China as an exciting, new experience, a different life from what the teacher has ever experienced. Salaries in China tend to be lower than in the teachers' home countries, but the experiences are priceless.
Some examples of similar agencies with logos that we think are pretty good are:
"Nova" from the name came has two connotations: 1) from the Latin, meaning "new", which has implications on our customers being introduced to a new life, new experiences, a new culture, etc.; and 2) the star, "a star that suddenly increases its light output tremendously and then fades away to its former obscurity in a few months or years", which has implications of our customers expanding their horizons, growing, and seizing new opportunities.
Although these are of course complicated emotions to invoke in a logo, especially where we have requested a simpler, more modern look, I thought it might help to relate this.
