2 Speak
2 Speak is:
1. Face to face English language lessons.
I am an ESL / EFL teacher in Germany (English as a Second or Foreign Langauge). I offer face to face English lessons to small groups. My clients are school children (and their parents), high school students and adults (professionals / corporate). My client base is varied to say the least. This means that my logo can not be too childish nor too academic or business like. It really needs to be a simple, fresh, clean logo which is memorable and appeals to all ages.
2. A Blog.
I will use the blog to write about multilingualism, bilingualism and language learning / teaching. I will also post interviews with language learners (both young and old), language teachers, education leadership and researchers about their knowledge of, and experiences with, language acquisition. These will be personal stories. The aim of the blog will be to depict the social and cultural aspects of language learning. I hope to reach a more global audience through the blog. The blog will be accessible through the website.
A lot of education, training and language learning logos feel offical and formal to me. This is not what I am looking for. I think the design needs to be simple, but it also needs to give the customer the feeling of learning, as apposed to education. Education is (for me) a formal institution, where as learning is an action. It’s something we do. It's creative. It's also something that connects us. Particularly when talking about language learning.
The name 2 Speak is a play on words. To speak (the verb) and the number 2 to indicate more than one person and more than one language. I believe learning a language opens up the possibility to meet people, interact and connect.
