I'm a professional fashion, portrait, and wedding photographer. I host of ”This Week in Photography”, one of the world’s most popular photography-related podcasts, and regularly lecture and conduct training classes on topics ranging from business to photographic technique.
I began my career as a Combat Photojournalist in the United States Air Force, where I served for 8 years and was decorated many times for my work in the field. My unit was among the first in the military to receive, and put into daily action, the very first digital camera technology — I was awarded the Air Force Commendation medal for my role in facilitating the transition from film-based photography to digital.

The target audience for this brand is the creative pro. That includes designers, photographers, videographers, and more. Because the audience is comprised of professional creatives, the standards for the quality of the logo are a bit higher. Due to the fact that creative professionals tend to have a higher-level of attention to detail and creativity.
This logo needs to be timeless. I would like it to be comprised of a graphical element that can be used on t-shirts, business cards, etc. Ideally it will be square in orientation to make it easier to use as icons, Gravatars, etc. I am a huge fan of very SIMPLE and elegant designs. Some of the logos I like are:
The Wordpress theme I am considering using for this project is here:
I actually like the color scheme they've chosen for this theme, and in fact the sample logo they're displaying is quite nice in terms of its simplicity. Though it won't work for MediaBytes, it's a good example of the simplicity I'm looking for in the logo.
I'd like the logo to be comprised of both a graphical element AND the MediaBytes name, however the logo should be able to stand on it's own and be recognized.
The logo should support:
Graphical element only
Horizontal display (graphical element on left, text on right)
Vertical display (graphical element on top, text on bottom)
Please avoid anything too three dimensional as those types of designs don't translate well to multiple uses.
