LearnWorthy
Skills Worth Learning
Short Description:
We teach high school students important life skills that they don't get in the standard curriculm. School principals, teachers, parents, and high school students are out target market for our brand and services.
Longer Description:
Learnworthy is a new company that exists to equip young people with important life skills that are not traditionally covered in schools, universities, or other educational facilities. Examples of these skills include financial education, emotional intelligence and time management skills.
In simple terms, the business delivers tailored face to face workshops and seminars to small and large groups of students.
Our simple premise is what skills, in hindsight, do adults wish they had learned in High School and university that would have set them up for life.
We’re very much about every student having access to our program and aimed at all levels and abilities. We want to give every student the opportunity to learn these skills.
Our future:
In five years time, we aim to be a national program that provides workshops to hundreds of thousands of students across over 100+ schools and other educational institutions.
Our Audience:
We will be marketing and selling into public, private and independent educational institutions across Australia.
Our initial target market is high schools, which creates four types of audiences. Our brand and logo will need to appeal to each of these audiences, for different reasons as described below.
• School Principals: Decision makers and potential budget holders. We’ll need to look professional, credible, and easy to do business with.
• Teachers: Key advocates and influencers. We’ll need to look relevant and credible.
• Parents: Influencers and potential budget holders. We’ll need to look relevant and credible.
• Students: Participants, but not decision makers. We’ll need to look relevant and a little fun.
We will communicate with our audience using a direct sales model consisting of physical visits, email, mail and targeted online advertising. We will also rely on some earned media and word of mouth to market our brand.
Our Brand Characteristics:
Overall our brand should encapsulate four main elements:
• Credibility
• Professionalism
• Relevance (to our target market)
• A touch of fun.
We ultimately want to be seen as a smart, trusted, independent partner with educational institutions.
Logo Use Cases:
The logo needs to be suitable for use on our website, social media, in PowerPoint presentations, letterheads, and on business cards in the future. We are open to paying to have these additional items designed for a logo that we love.
We envisage that the logo may include a tag line saying ‘Skills Worth Learning ‘, but should also be versatile for use without this tag line where appropriate.
The logo must also be appropriate for use in both colour and black and white formats.
The Design
We have no strong colour preferences and are open to ideas. Any colours, imagery, or design would ideally need to link to the brand characteristics described above.
We have a preference for the logo to use no more than two colours on a white background.
The logo should be relatively simple, whilst containing elements that show thought has gone into the design in a way that conveys intellectualism with a hint of fun. For example, this could involve using double or subtle meanings, or the smart use of letters/imagery/typeface that is relevant to the education industry, or relevant to the broader problem that we’re trying to solve (e.g. we’re filling the gap/covering the bases/teaching important life skills that are worth learning, but are not taught in schools).
Please refer to the mood board linked below for examples of logos that have achieved this in their own context. The ‘unlock’ and ‘LearnCoding’ logos in the mood board are probably our favourite examples when it comes to the use of intellect in the logo.
