Our previous logos are for the Center for Developmental Science, an organization that is dissolving to be part of the CCHD. CCHD has never had a logo, but does not want to adopt the tree logo that CDS had. We've had more positive feedback towards the face logo, but it would be good if the logo could be a bit more relevant to the CCHD, and communicate a bit more about what we do and examine.
We're looking for a logo that reflects that we work on human development in some way (themes of growth, childhood, etc.), but can still stand for a research institution. Youthful yet professional! It should be clear from the logo (or at least understandable) that we work in developmental (mostly child) psychology.
It is not necessary, but it could also be good to incorporate North Carolina into the design (whether the shape of the state, some emblem of the state, or the state color of Carolina blue).
We are entering our 30th year and are having a 30th anniversary celebration, so it may be nice to incorporate that in some way. Ideas from our end had been somehow incorporating the themes of a 30th wedding anniversary (pearls, silver).
