Katie Unicorn is a home lifestyle brand that creates whimsical, unconventional, and joyous environments and designs for their clients. Katie Unicorn is a pseudonym for our designer Katie Uhlenbrock in Dallas, TX. Katie is a dynamic creative whose mission is to uplift women and create products and services that help people connect on a deeper level with their environments and live a happy authentic life connecting to their environment and others. Katie uses a multitude of design tools, and is especially gifted with bringing her client's vision to life using her many and diverse skills that include interior design, home organization, one-of-a-kind furniture restoration, garden design, and working with her hands to create one of a kind unique and timeless pieces. Katie’s creations help clients find their whimsy and feel joyous. At age 37, Katie is a timeless beauty whose personality is whimsical, approachable and authentic. We’re seeking a wordmark that’s elegant and sophisticated, with a playful interesting side, probably with thin letters or a more delicate dynamic font style. (We DO NOT want large fat childish bubble letters.) Whimsy is a word we’ve used a lot in this brief and that is purposeful. Whimsy is defined as ‘capricious humor or disposition; fanciful, or excessively playful expression.’ ‘A fanciful or fantastic device, object, or creation especially in writing or art.’ For example: ‘The designer's new line showed a touch of whimsy.’ Our clients are youthful vibrant people, between 25 and 45, typically female, who live in the United States. Our clients tend not to buy things because of a brand name (although they can afford luxury brands); instead, our clients buy because of the way things make them feel: whimsical, authentic, powerful, seen, joyous, and vibrant. We are looking for a logo that represents what we are all about. Something that is emotive. A logo that is bold, vibrant, whimsical, strong, modern and unexpected. We DO NOT want anything that is too young/childish. We are open to bold and vibrant colors and contrast and more modern unexpected color palettes. (Please note that while our primary audience is female, that does not mean this logo has to be pink... While we are open to the incorporation of shades of pink/magenta/etc. = we DO NOT want anything that is excessively pink/pastel or overly girly.)
