The Digital Built Environment Institute (DBEI) is a non-profit institution/ organization involved in the promotion of Building Information Modelling. The institution is a global non-profit running a series of events dedicated learning the use of best-in-class tools, processes and workflows, behaviours and leadership in the Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) Industry. Our events span across 4 continents (North America, Europe, Asia, Australasia/ New Zealand). We are the organizers and owners of the Building Infrastructure Lifecycle and Technology (BILT) conference, which is our cornerstone event series.
In our constitution/membership we are run ‘by users, for users’, and our network/community gives us an insight into changing technology and market conditions. We believe that those who work daily within the AEC industry are the best placed to train others in the critical knowledge and skill sets required to excel in our industry. We’re all about sharing knowledge, working smarter and more collaboratively. Our aim is to help the industry improve how it works – and our community is passionate about this.
As the DBEI, our vision is: To become a trusted builder of communities dedicated to the built environment. Our industry faces challenges applicable to the lifecycle of buildings and infrastructure, and is supported by improvements in technology. We recognize that the technology related to BIM is an enabler of better processes and outcomes, not a driver in and of itself. Our vision is to shape the future of the AEC industry to become more productive, smarter, and stronger to ensure a more sustainable built environment, through collaboration.
Our target audience are: Architects, Engineers (Structural, Mechanical, Electrical, Hydraulic, Civil), Managers (BIM, CAD, Design Technology, IT, Design, Construction, Project), Quantity Surveyors, Technologists, Thought Leaders and Academics.
