Sidhu Alexander LLP
We're two young lawyers that have joined together to form a firm. We both have businesses on the side that eat up any remaining time we have. Both of us have practiced solo for some time now, and have decided that two is better than one. And, we hope to grow from here. Although, we'd like to be able to compete with the big firms in the way of portraying professionalism and ability, we think that being a small firm can have advantages in the way of personal attention and flexibility.
Although, representing a company like Apple Computers would be cool, we're realistic in knowing that this probably won't be happening anytime soon. In the mean time, we cater quite well to customers who don't want to fight downtown parking to see their lawyer. We're in the 'burbs' for lack of a better term, and these are a lot of the folks we see for their real estate deals, their contracts, their wills, and their lawsuits. We cater to both personal and corporate clients. People who need lawyers look for similar things you look for when you need a mechanic. They're looking for someone that's uber-professional, that they can trust, that won't cost them an arm and a leg, but that will whatever case it is they're battling. We serve a lot of ethnic clients, but want to be able to appeal to all people that could use our services.
No matter how hard we try to say that you don't have to fit the traditional mould to do something, quite often the rest of the world has different ideas about keeping you in your box so that they can recognize you. I tried to be the lawyer who wore blue jeans and golf shirts, but the truth is people look at you different when you're wearing a suit and tie. They're willing to pay you your asking rate when you're wearing a tie and not a pair of canvass Converse. Although lawyers are traditionally stuffy and not very creative, we'd like to keep the professionalism, but try to add at least a little bit of an edge or modern touch to the logo. My initial thoughts are that some sort of word art with the names, and a good color combo would work, but I'm not adverse to seeing more graphics involved if we can keep it from going over the top. Gavels (little wooden hammer) and the scales of justice are a little on the cheesy side and also rather American (we're Canadian), so I'd probably try and avoid these. I'm not really sure if we should be going strong and bold, or more time-honored and refined. I'll leave that up to you guys.
