I am a serial entrepreneur in my 60's with training as an engineer, and careers in finance and energy. This is the second clean energy company i have started.
40% of the world energy demand is met by coal fired plants. No matter how hard we try, the world cannot stop burning coal for at least the next 50 years and probably 100!. Too many environmentalists and politicians have turned their backs on this issue and very few people are working to make the existing coal plants greener. In the US, new environmental legislation is trying to force coal plants to close when there is no available green source to take up the slack.
Our products can cost effectively provide cleaner solid fuels that burn efficiently in the present coal boiler infrastructure. Coal burning plants using our fuels need less costly back end scrubbing. and have consequent reductions in green house gasses from two sources - efficiency and burning renewable fuel. We are engineers, concerned about the future, and dedicated to finding solutions that work today, as well as 10-20 years from now.
Burning biomass does not work efficiently in many existing coal plants without costly modification. Carbon capture and storage does not work on any existing coal plant and will require new, very expensive plants to be built that will produce far less power per ton of coal burned than conventional coal fired plants.
Prospective commercial, industrial, and utility clients; government regulators; government grant making bodies; potential funding sources. We need a logo that looks green and clean, and evokes a modern image in an old stogy industry that is exceedingly reluctant to change. We need government people to sit up, take notice and want to know more about what we do and how we do it. We need younger, environmentally sensitive people to become curious about necessary solutions rather than dismissing all coal burning as bad.
We need people to understand that EVERY other fuel - from hydro to natural gas, to diesel, to nuclear is cleaned and prepared before it is used. Only the coal industry burns fuel straight out of the ground, and the coal industry must take responsibility for the cleanliness of its fuel. We have the technology to do that.
Our audience will be international, and we should be sensitive to cultural and language differences.
Logo in a user friendly digital format - JPG, BIT, TIF, etc. Should be scalable so that it can be used for high quality graphics, or used in an email without becoming a bandwidth hog.
I would eventually like to use the logo on web site, business cards, letterhead, presentations, etc.
Attached is some of the rudimentary stuff we have used before.
