We are a third party logistics company looking to get some fresh designs for our KeyShipExpress web service. KeyShipExpress is a site that allows our shipper clients to find low negotiated Less-than-truckload carrier rates, create a bill of lading and dispatch the shipment all right from the site.We are not a trucking company - we negotiate rates with trucking companies and provide the engine, dispatch communication with the carrier and billing process to provide an end-to-end transportation management system. the logo should not look as though we are a trucking company but a service that makes shipping freight easy! We would like the logo to match the blue and look and feel of our main company logo at http://www.shiplps.com.
At LPS we have a few web-basedservices that all start with "key" where key was original a metaphorfor "important" or "critical" as opposed to a literal door key. Weoffer our clients what we call an end-to-end transportation managementsystem. Our clients are companies that ship more raw goods ormanufactured parts as opposed to final finished goods. This freight isheavy and larger than your typically parcel-based shipments. We havenegotiated pricing with over 200 carriers such as Yellow Frieght,Conway, USF, Old Dominion, etc. We negotiate pricing for their goodsand enter that into our online rating engine. Their internaltransportation people then use our site to find the lowest-cost orsmallest transit time carrier to ship their outbound goods.Freightquote.com is similar in this effect but we have a differentbusiness model. We call this system the KeyShip system. We also havedeveloped a system called KeyShipExpress - the one I put on 99designs.This is the exact same system but its geared to customers with lowershipping volumes who can leverage our buying power. Most often theyhave negotiated rates directly with a carrier or another third partybut typically never see the margins those guys are adding to theircosts.

I think I'm lookingfor a good graphical icon to show with the text to depict the service.I like the clean web2.0 looking logos out there and thought I'd try myluck with 99designs. As a small company we are on a smaller budget butif I find a good designer to help me, I'll use that person forbrochures, possible web redesigns, other logos, etc.
I hope that gives a better insight into what I'm trying to accomplish.BTW, the color scheme for Keyship express has been blues. I dont haveany specific color swatches though. Our current Keyship colors havebeen blues but perhaps KeyshipExpress can introduce a blue + green orsomething. We would like to stay away from orange.

- logo should be able to be modified for both keyship.net and keyshipexpress when finished.

- preferably Myriad Pro font or similar
- We are not asset based company - I don't want to look like a trucking company rather a shipping partner helping to simplify the freight process
