GreatStuffThatWorks.com
Greetings! My name is Paul Good. I have been researching and finding the best products for customers, friends and family, since I was 16.
My background ranges from Berklee College of Music, to consumer electronics sales and management, to entrepreneur continuing to create new businesses that help people enjoy life more.
Ten years ago I created a fund that uses private donations to revitalize public spaces and bring more art into the public venue. Every project is designed to "accidentally" encourage greater personal interaction and strengthen a local feeling of community.
I am creating the review site GreatStuffThatWorks.com to help people quickly sort through the sea of products in a variety of product categories and to quickly understand what products are the Great Stuff That (Really) Works. ie. products that have been determined by experts in that field to be the best at doing what they say they'll do, are well made and are easy to understand and operate.
Middle to upper income consumers who love to buy great products but are not technically oriented. They are willing to reasonably spend more to buy the right product, but lack the knowledge and expertise to determine what that is.
They are predominately male, but females are quickly and thankfully, becoming more actively interested in understanding what makes a great product. Greater self-sufficiency is a very positive motivator for this group.
They are between 35-60 yrs. old, wanting to create a better lifestyle with a lot less hassles. They are looking for simplicity, elegant design that is classy and engaging but highly functional.
This group is motivated to tell their friends about the cool products they have. ie. they like being known for having the Great Stuff That Works.
We need a logo that can act as a banner header on our WordPress website. Be creative around the GreatStuffThatWorks.com name, in style, color and background.
It needs to be unique, as to be instantly recognizable as GreatStuffThatWorks.com, the way Amazon.com or Old Navy or Monster.com each is distinctively unique for its target market.
It's colors and style should reflect the target audience described above, ie. the image of a better lifestyle, simplicity, engaging and non technical.
At the same time it needs to convey some feeling of the extensive research that goes into every review. The Wall Street Journal on line logo conveys a businesslike feel in the way it looks, but it is non technical, yet strong.
The idea is to convey a feeling of being trustworthy, intelligent, thorough. People should get a positive mental boost every time they see it, accompanied by an underlying sense of curiosity and discovery.
Overall, it should be easy to read when quickly glanced at.
You will be creating the core brand recognition for our site, which we will carry forward into all related branding for GreatStuffThatWorks.com.
I will make myself available to speak directly to answer any questions.
This is a WordPress site. Premier Themes of Elegant Themes or Studiopress will be the themes I will have to pick from for matching. Theme suggestions welcome. Thanks so much, Paul Good
