Panoramica

My name is Darren Weber and moneyskillsforlife.com is an online membership program exclusively for young people aged under 30 (generation Y) to teach them how to manage their money better and ensure that they can easily become wealthy and have the freedom to choose what ever career and lifestyle they prefer - rather than choosing a career purely based around trying to earn more money in their future.

My passion is to give young people a better understanding of how money works and of the consequences of the choices they make with money on a daily basis - of all careers and lifestyles young people can choose from one thing in common is that everyone has to deal with money in their life – this program is specifically tailored and relevant to teach young people how money works.

I have had the good fortune personally, driven by a strong desire to find the answers, to have been able to quit my job at the age of 32 - and i learnt a lot about money along the way - and I now enjoy the freedom that comes from having an abundance of time in my life to do the things that I enjoy.

Learning about money it is not all about riches and material possessions, but providing for an affordable lifestyle of your choice.

Wealth to me means having "time, health, happiness and money"

My target market is the large percentage of young people to whom finances, money and investing do not come easily & naturally - therefore money tends to not be focused on in their life - ultimately meaning they don't get anywhere near the full potential of understanding the basics of money management, and the consequences of their choices with money.

My target market is all the young people with everday jobs and interests like hairdressers, tradespeople, gardeners, nurses, doctors, environmental scientists, etc, etc - everyday young people to whom money is not a natural interest in their life.

This segment of the market often feels intimidated about learning about money because of their lack of understanding - which really means that nobody has ever explained it properly to them.

Often money and investing websites are promoted with photos of brand-new Ferraris, sailing expensive yachts around the world, drinking expensive champagne with expensive jewelry. This is not the image I want to portray.

The image I want to portray is one of free and happy everyday young people, smiling, doing what they enjoy, in the career that they love, and having an abundance of time to spend with family and friends - i.e. the wealth is in the freedom and happiness that comes from managing your money better, rather than the modern materialistic items that can be bought if you have more money.

My aim is to create a logo and header (font/graphics for the title ‘MoneySkillsForLife.Com’) that captures the attention of young people, is modern and relevant to Generation Y, so they feel they can achieve a life that provides freedom and happiness to do the things they are interested in, rather than a boring job.

My understanding is a 'mid blue' colour is most trustable for a logo and header.

This course should be something to aspire to, something to be proud of, provide a sense of achievement, and be something they would happily share with friends and family.

The logo whilst being designed to attract and motivate young people, should also be substantial enough for parents to feel confident in their children doing the course i.e. not something ultra grungy or trendy - but something that the parents can also connect with.

Words that come to my mind describing feelings and benefits of the program are - freedom, abundance of time, lifestyle, culture, travel, fun, creativity, individuality, happiness, trust, healthy lifestyle, sustainability, healthy planet.

The logo would represent something that achievable and desirable.

More and more people's desire is on how much 'time' freedom they have in their life as opposed material riches.

My logo will stand for the benefits of doing what you want in life, rather than having a job and lifestyle that you feel stuck in.
