In 2010, Sarah Marquis will be off for her next expedition during which she'll walk from southern Siberia to southern Australia during 2 years.
She needs a cutting-edge logo to brand that new expedition.

A little bit about Sarah Marquis, the Swiss adventurer
This isn’t her first attempt... when she was eightyears old she took off with her dog to spend the night in a cave and didn’ttell anyone where she was going. At seventeen she crossed Central Anatlia(Turkey) on horseback... without the small detail of knowing how to ride. Hertaste for travelling brought her Australia, but it was New Zealand that sheencountered the full experience of walking and made her decision: she wouldwalk to fulfil her desire for discovery and her need to try and understandLife. She spent a lot of time in Patagonia, where kilometre after kilometre sheexplored these lands full of culture. She stayed in Moorea (French Polynesia)where she was attracted to the beauty of the islands and their inhabitants. Butthe Australian bush beckoned her once again. Over the years she has returnedregularly to rejuvenate. She explored Canada by canoe and in 2000 she crossedthe United States, from the Canadian to the Mexican border... 4’260 kilometresin four months and six days...it was a path full of obstacles. She then thoughtshe had reached the limit of her abilities. From up in her snowy mountains inSwitzerland, she thought up a wild plan: crossing the Australian deserts aloneon foot...
Sarahspent five hundred and ten days wandering through the Australian continentalone. The thought of abandoning hermission never even crossed her mind. Faced with Mother Nature’sun-forgivingness, she humbly confronted her destiny by pushing beyond both herphysical and her mental limits. Her basis for survival was her experience. Sheused her flair, her tricks and some leading-edge techniques borrowed from theAmerican army. Most of the time the animals she preyed on were faster than her.Sometimes nature pitied her and allowed her to satisfy her appetite. Her onlypoints of reference were her precious topographic maps along with a compassthat never left her side. Sarah will take the audience on a trip through theintricacies of her mind and experience a taste of her thoughts about thisvastness. From Switzerland to Australia, from dry spells to torrential rainstorms, from a plate of insects to a plate of sauerkraut, from her day to daylife as a woman to greater altruistic thoughts, let yourself be lead step bystep through these lands of red sand…

For more inspiration, her pressbook is available here:
- The spirit of mother Nature must be present
- The following hints must be present in the logo: - adventure
- in contact with wilderness and wild animals
- the most important thing is the walking part and i'm walking alone.
- I'd like "pure lines" ... not to heavy
- The logo has to hint that I'm a female adventurer
- Terracotta colors (dominant one is #b15922) (see http://www.sarahmarquis.ch/index.php?l=en
- Something too loaded with colors
- I'd prefer an outlined logo than a filled one
