The logo should convey the following about Parallax Insight:
Primary concepts: insight, trusted, connected, creative, intuitive
Secondary concepts: perception, analysis, networks, perspective
Corporates, Government departments, lobby groups and public relations professionals
For background information, the concept of "Parallax" can best be described as “an apparent displacement or difference in the apparent position of an object viewed along two different lines of sight, and is measured by the angle or semi-angle of inclination between those two lines.” A common example of parallax can be seen in the dashboard of a car that uses a needle speedometer. When viewed from directly in front, the speed may show exactly 50; but when viewed from the passenger seat the needle may appear to show a slightly different speed, due to the angle of viewing. I’m not expecting any specific reference to a dashboard in the logo design.
This competition is for a single logo that incorporates both the brand name and a graphical element, with the graphical element also capable of carrying the brand when displayed on its own. The logo should be clean, able to be rapidly read, and be distinctive and memorable. It must render well even at small sizes.
Capitalisation of text is up to you; I am open to Parallax Insight, ParallaxInsight, or Parallax*Insight (where * is the graphical element). Show me what works for your particular design. Colour is entirely up to you.
To demonstrate the versatility of your design, before the end of the competition I will need to see your entry rendered in four forms:
a) Primary logo design, with the text "Parallax" or “Parallax Insight” and a graphical motif.
b) 50x50 pixel version of just the graphical element of the logo, to show how it would work as a profile image on a Facebook page or Twitter.
c) 16x16 pixel version of just the graphical element of the logo
d) True black-and-white (no grey) rendition of a) to demonstrate flexibility of the design
Designers are welcome to submit just a) initially, and only prepare the alternative renderings for designs that are given three stars or higher.
Final logo design must be supplied in a scalable vector format such as an Adobe Illustrator file.
I will rate and comment on every design submitted, and will be providing feedback every day of the competition. Note I am in New Zealand (GMT +12) so don't necessarily expect feedback during your particular waking hours! Here is how to interpret my star ratings:

2 : Major aspects of this design are not what I am looking for.
3 : This design has promise, and is in the running. Please review feedback.
4 : Strong contender. Please review the feedback.
5 : Currently shortlisted. This design is a leading contender for final selection.
