I'm Kerry Murdock, the publisher of Practical eCommerce, at http://www.practicalecommerce.com. Our site provides easy-to-follow, down-to-earth articles, podcasts and other content to help small online merchants grow and prosper. Our company is small, with about a half-dozen employees. But, we love what we do, and we want a logo that is stronger and more engaging that what we have, without competing with our content, which is the focus of our site.

Our audience is mainly smaller ecommerce merchants with freestanding websites/shopping-carts that sell products. The average revenue size of our readers' ecommerce firms is approximately $500,000. It is usually one person with a few employees, at most. The audience is web savvy who is making their living from their ecommerce businesses. Our content is straightforward and helpful and we want our logo to follow from that mission.
We are redesigning the top header of Practicalecommerce.com, and the new logo with fit into that new design. Please use the same basic blue scheme as we have now, but color variations are fine, too. Keep the tagline (Insights for online merchants) intact, too. Finally, please keep the specialized treatment with the "m" in ecommerce that we have in the logo now.
The new header of the site will loosely follow what we have on our new site, Ecommercedeveloper.com, and this new logo will fit into that.
The logo should convey that our content is engaging, helpful and easy to understand.
The logo is currently all lower case, but we are fine with upper case for the P in Practical and the E in ecommerce.
