This is a full site rebranding. The old company was cardinalbuild.com - Cardinal Construction Services with a cardinal as the logo. We are doing a whole new site - http://www.potomacriverconstruction.com. We are hoping to get a crisp web2.0 looking logo that looks and defines rustic elegant. I know, I'm not sure what that means either :) This client is one in many we will be working with over the coming years and would really like to find a good stylish UI guy/gal who can help on future projects as well. We will be targeting high end consumers who need residential remodels. It could be anything from kitchen, bath, patio, decks, pools, media rooms, basements, game rooms. The clientele and demographic for this audience are very high net worth families living outside of Washington DC in 2 of the wealthiest counties in the country. Projects are not cheap and jobs over $250k are very common in this area. Think high end politicians, lobbyist and lawyers...all the people we love sooo much :)

Modern Logo design for Potomac River Construction Services. Remember this is a high end residential remodeling company not a home builder or construction digging company. So no front end loaders :) Client and I will approve. I will provide the feedback.

Image should be on the left and Potomac River Construction Services on the right of the logo. However I will look at anything. I am open to ideas.
No clip art or stock images.
Logo should look like an icon, so no pictures of a house or trees but icon images would be fine.
Size should be a rectangle shape.
Visually represent "rustic elegance" (which is what the company is all about). That might mean something more sketchy and rough but still edited and elegant. I think the green and blue colors are too bright and not representative of anything rustic. I think modern Colorado ski lodge or California ranch when I think rustic elegance.

Ideas: from a non UI guy...maybe a logo looking house, with pool and deck, tree and sun in background on the left. Crisp logo saying Potomac River Construction Services on the right. If we get it looking good we can always change the font. But please don't let this restrict you. Eventually I will want little logos for all the various projects they do and use them on the site.

Will need a light and dark version of the logo. Not sure the background it will sit on yet.

Would like the file format in png as well as the original psd. We can discuss more once you win.

Please experiment we are open to ideas and as soon as we see a couple ideas I WILL have feedback for you.
