Cornerstone Photography
Large studio that deals in many facets of portraiture. Elementary school pictures, high school seniors, sports, children, weddings, babies, family - you name it, we shoot it! Cornerstone has been providing excellent portraiture in Ventura county for 15 years. We want to appeal to a large audience from principals to high school seniors! That is a tough demographic to make all parties happy, but we feel this venue will produce a winning logo. Our main clients are schools and families. We want to project a feeling of trust, stability, honesty, but look hip at the same time! We don't want a old fashion logo that says we aren't up to snuff on technology. We want to convey modern, but without losing that traditional/stable reputation that we've worked hard to establish.
We are targeting both existing clients and future prospects. The age range is parents of elementary children, high school seniors, wedding clients, future moms, etc. It's mostly for parents, but we want the high school seniors to think Cornerstone isn't lame!
We need AI, or EPS ( scalable and containing no bitmaps ) format. It needs to be readable on a small scale and needs to be useable on black or white backgrounds. This logo will be used on website, brochures, but more importantly, it MAY be used as a signature on the corner of our portraits. We also need to use it as a watermark on our images when we blog or put them on net so clients don't get tempted to right click and steal our images.
In the past we've been using earth tones ( brown, slate gray ) but have also used maroon and black. However, we are very open to something more playful, fresh and modern.
Please avoid the iconic typical camera stuff or tripod or filmstrip. We are hoping for something more original. We don't mind using a camera image or structure, as long as it's darn creative and the C or Cornerstone name is incorporated.
I like the 1940's iconic look, but it might not work in this arena. I thought I would mention it though. We also like it when there is a play on letters where you see one symbol or letter at first, but upon further review you see the second letter or image. I can't remember what this style is called as I write this. It's sort of like an optical illusion - sort of like the artist Escher.
We will probably need icon and type face ( Cornerstone Photography ) that support each other.
