Panoramica

My title is Lean Velocity Leader; I am a continous improvement Change Agent for our company. I help teams of empowered employees to identify changes that we can make in our processes that will enable us to deliver our services with greater SPEED and QUALITY (Velocity and Excellence).

We are building a "kaizen culture" -- 1% improvements each day that can be made quickly and easily as we pursue perfection in our process.

Our company is an Information Technology Value Added Reseller that is a Cisco Gold Partner and a NetApp Platinum Partner. We specialize in IP Networks, Unified Communications and Data Center solutions.

Our employees include highly skilled IT Engineers (network, storage, application, communications), Project Managers, Senior-level Sales People (consultative business partners), and Finance & Operations staff (AP/AR/Purchasing/Shipping & Receiving/Warehouse).

The primary audience is our Internal Employees. This logo will serve as a badge of honor for employees who have participated in Improvement Events (e.g., kaizen blitzes, six sigma projects) or who have been trained in Continuous Improvement tools and techniques. It will be used in conjunction with our corporate logo on apparel, business cards, LinkedIn profiles, in email signatures, and on accessories like mugs and keychains.

While the audience is primarily internal, it will be seen by our Customers and our partners (Cisco Systems, NetApp, Tandberg, Microsoft, etc.). It should spark conversations with people in these organizations so they know we are taking this Continuous Improvement journey to be a better partner for them.

Lean Velocity is an internal journey that we are taking, but will provide a competitive advantage for us.

People from outside our company should look at the logo and say, "That looks cool. What's that?"

Richieste

We want the logo to be complimentary to our corporate logo, but also be distinct. It should have color (a nice accent to our corporate blue/black), but also look good in black & white.

We don't have a formal style guide, but our logo can be used as just the IP with the circle around it or with the IPLogic spelled out. We cannot modify or penetrate the circle in any way--the new logo has to be independent of the corporate logo.

A couple of key phrases that might be impactful (if words/a tagline fit with your concept) are:
- Lean Velocity
- Continuous Improvement
- Speed, Excellence, Economy (spelling the word SEE)
- "Empowered to Improve" (referring to our employees)
- "Better" Not "Best" (a slogan we use that reminds our employees that we are trying to improve incrementally, not get it perfect right now)

I'm wide open to concepts. Here are some thoughts I've had (but I'm definitely not married to):

1) In our logo, the "IP" of IPLogic was created with an upside-down "CI", which is the abbreviation for "Continuous Improvement. I thought that a creative mirroring of our logo in some way might be a good concept. However, I'm not a designer, so I can't visualize it well.

2) concept that may work is a shape/banner circling around the outside of our "circled IP", perhaps an arrow.
