Update 2: I've adjusted the sliders in the "what values should your logo communicate" section, please keep these in mind when designing. I've come to the realization that what works best may not be what I myself like in a logo, but rather what the brides (primarily) would find appealing, so that explains the change in the sliders' values.
Update: I've added a few samples of logos that I find particularly appealing - not to steal their idea or anything, but just so you know what I think are cool and unique designs. Thanks!
I started off with an aperture blade design, with SW inside it...but I'm not so sure about that anymore. The two designs I was working on seem too amateur and cartoonish for my taste. Also, I know the aperture blade/iris diaphragm has been done to death in terms of photo-related logos, so I don't think I want to go that route anymore. I do like symmetrical designs, though that's not a necessity. I'm looking for something elegant, tasteful, and classy - nothing too showy, complex or tawdry. Something that will appeal to 20 and 30-something brides. Ideally the design will effectively portray a wedding photographer, and not be too commercial, corporate, or edgy.
I work primarily with youngish couples (25-40), high school seniors, and aspiring models in their early to late 20's. Thanks so much, looking forward to seeing what you all come up with.
