Cholame Valley Vineyard
My name is David DuBois and I have a landscape company - love everything about landscape, ageless, timeless, sexless, everyone likes landscape and I like seeing a project and plants mature. The vineyard is another company that increases the passion of nature with wine grapes that are tied to the earth in the appellation where planted found in the wine they produce. Watching them grow and mature with fruit after much training, thinning, watering and maintenance is very rewarding and fullfilling.
The vineyard is located in the Cholame Valley, California which is a name from the original indians that lived there meaning 'the beautiful one' referring to the valley and what it offers with large oak trees and native flowers. Today the area is known for the valley James Dean had his life ending accident. It is also known for the Parkfield Rodeo and the San Andreas Fault running through it. I found this area when touring through the area on my Harley Davidson (I love motorcycles - dirt and street) and fell in love with the valley enough to come back and look closer.
My plans were to find an area that citrus or vineyard would grow and this area fit the vineyard plans. Most of the valley is filled with cattle ranching and there are two other vineyards nearby. The dirt road that runs nearby the vineyard is an old stage coach road and the stage stop was torn down years ago.

People who drink wine and it is one very broad audience. From baby boomers that are very traditional in the wines they choose to younger audiences that choose very crazy labels. The world buys wines from California.
People who like Zinfandel, Syrah, Tempranillo, GSM (Grenache, Syrah, Mourvedre) blends.
Wine enthusiasts have a lot of passion whether it's for the wine itself or for the paring of foods that will go well with a particular wine.
Much of the interest ones travel from word of mouth. Winning an award / ribbon for a county fair or wine tasting event will cause interest to want a particular wine. Noting of a wine by industry magazines brings interest to wines. Advertising. Web sites.
A nearby winery that I like their marketing efforts is Four Vines, they have the ecclectic labels and the traditional labels appeal with cool individual names for each wine type or blend.
I need a look with our name that is identifiable. Possibly a logo or crest to go with the name. Our colors are Black, White, Silver and Red - I could be open to others. Our bottles are dark and the wines are all Reds so there are no Chardonnay's that give a clear look about the bottle when full they appear very dark to black like any bottle of red wine.
Standing out when sitting on a shelf with many other bottle of wines.
Interesting enough to want to purchase or read more about the wine on the back of the label.
