ericandmary necessitava di un nuovo design di app e ha lanciato un contest su 99designs.

This app provides study cards for students grade 3-12 and college.
Adults use the application to design, sell & buy cards.
Students use the application the "play"/study learning cards.
Parents/teachers use the app to see how kids have done... and where they need more help.
app.boomlearning.com
I'm a little hesitant to point you to the current website b/c it might give you bad ideas. Developers have done a fine job implementing features, but we have put no work into UX.
If you view app.boomlearning.com in a NARROW web page, you can see what we look like on a phone. Your designs can be explicitly for iOS or web. We really expect to look the same on all devices.
We have tabs along the bottom for jumping to major work areas... and then tabs or buttons or links within each area to drill deeper. A lot of the "flow" is ok, but some features should be split into different pages.
We have a working logo, but that can be changed too.
Boom Cards
From the Home page / boot screen.
Un-logged-in users should see a lovely description of how the service works. And be invited to create an account. They should also be able to browse the "store". Any other pages they visit are only informational... and inviting them to join.
A logged-in user gets a "custom" UI depending on if they are a student or an adult (teacher/parent/author)
Kid views should tend to have bigger fonts... and elements that appeal to kids. Adult views should not "over do" the kiddie stuff.
You can look at our website, create an account, and explore the various pages of the app.
For this contest, I'd like to focus on 3 "pages"/screens... obviously I'd like the winner to design a bunch of additional screens as a separate work item, so please do not make a submission unless you are willing to design the rest of the app.
1. the home page/boot screen for non-member
2. a "settings" screen for a student
3. main "assignment" screen for a student
1. the home page should hopefully communicate what our service does while looking clean and inviting.
2. Currently, all the functionality on the "assignment" tab for a student should "probably" be split into 2 tabs. (settings/assignments)
I leave this to your good thinking.
You can log in with username="ttt", pw="demo". (please don't change the username or PW while you are in there)
If you log in and create a STUDENT account, (accept terms and pick "student" role) then navigate to the "assignment" tab, you will see some of the same stuff, but if you use the ttt/demo account you can seem more real data.
A student has 1 or more parent/teachers at the top. (showing parent/teacher name and picture)
An avatar, nickname and optional email
A username (private)
A birthdate
Some badges and currency reporting.
(level, coins, jewels and badges)
Then a list of decks that are available to be worked on.
The deck list is plain now, but it should show % complete... plus some level and/or badge notation to show accomplishment.
The deck list should also have indications of "new" vs "in progress" vs "complete"
One thing I've struggled with is how to make 10 - 40 decks not look overwhelming. I'd like to "hide" the ones that are not in the current "working set". And then de-emphasize the ones that the user has "mastered"
Instead of a boring "list", I've considered doing a "map" or "tree" of titles... where child can only see a few at a time and must navigate around to "explore".
That's it for now... feel free to ask questions.
Elements that are small, hard to click, poor contrast.
