Il brief di design
Parent University is an app for parents of 0 - 8 yr olds. The App pushes activities daily to PARENT'S phone based on your child's age and learning needs. Our activities focus on early childhood education, development and literacy training. For example an activity appropriate for a 7 year old would be: http://www.parentuniversity.co/activities/naming-rhyming-words Or you can download our current app on iTunes or Play Store to experience it yourself. Currently we deliver a single activity each day via a push notification. Here is what our current app does: - User signs up by creating account (using Facebook) - User completes registration (by providing the birthday of their child, the time they would like to receive push alerts, etc.) - User receives daily activities via push alerts - User completes daily activities by clicking "Done" or by clicking "Photo" - User earns 1 point for clicking "Done" 2 points for taking a photo (after taking a photo user then has the option for sharing to Facebook) - User can view "progress" on progress meter - User can review past activities (along with captured photos if they captured a photo) We have a huge library of content. All of our content is tagged based on the age of the child. We would like to completely redesign our app. We are also actively looking for a designer to join our team. The only feature we are adding with the new version will be a progress meter that will allow users to see their completion rate of activities for the week. In general, we would love to overhaul the user interface. Honestly the current app design was pretty much put together to purely put the app out and get some feedback about the basic features and user flow. We have some really good feedback about the use of the app, daily lessons being helpful and user retention. With a better designed app we will be proud to go crazy marketing and advertising it. We have already partnered with some of the leading early childhood education organizations in the US. We need a design and user experience that is worthy of the content we deliver and the positive impact we have on families.

If Nike+ featured content more prominently (as opposed to focusing on the current progress and other analytics of your running), we would copy this. For our app our content is what must be featured. Which is why we like Storylane http://pttrns.com/p/251 and Readability http://pttrns.com/p/165 so much. We like Storylane reader for organizing the home page of past and present push alerts. And Readability is great because it keeps the content front and center. http://pttrns.com/p/72 We like the Foursquare UI because of the great design of the push alerts and because we want to feature the accomplishments of our users so they can see their progress and rewards. We also like the social elements of course. We like the look. However, the flow of the user experience will likely be much different. To recap some of the commonly shared features of these designs, we see the top 4 priorities as: Ease of use (clean UX) Prominently featuring the content Clearly displaying and communicating rewards/progress The ability to interact socially We are open to a range of colors and typography.
Descrizioni degli screen
Depending on the design it could be as little as 2 screens or as many as 4 screens. Currently we have 3 screens (4 including the current splash/login page) - registration screen, home screen, activity details screen. We know from our users that they spend a lot of time on home screen and the activity details screen. However, the UX on the activities page is confusing and clunky and not many users actually "complete" the activity by selecting the Done or Photo buttons. We want a design that encourages them to complete activities and then makes it clear that they have earned points/awards for doing so. We also want users to be able to review past activities and to be able to know their progress and points standings. If you develop designs that require more than 2 screens we will increase the bid. We simply do not know what it should be. So please message us if the bid is too low and you know that we will need more than 2 screens. The reason we selected 2 screens is because we do not want a confusing design. We want simplicity and clarity and for users to be able to easily access the content in a readable format (our current text size is too small, for example).
