Fully Functional iPad App needs redesign

This is an enterprise app that allows users to search for and view safety incidents. The app is fully functional. However the customer in not satisfied with the design.

This is a safety app used within a construction company. If a theme were to be used it should be safety/construction related. However, a theme is not necessary. A color scheme using blues/yellow in the colorThemes.png file would be another option.

Safety Incident Viewer

The attached screenshots demonstrate the work flow of the application. They are named with a number prefix. This number represents the order which they would be used. The left hand side of the app contains search criteria that can be used to find specific safety incidents. The right hand side contains the search results and can be drilled down to find information about a specific incident. The client is unhappy with the design of the search criteria part of the app. The screen I would like to redesign is the the one named 7_Summary.

The width of the of search criteria section and the search results section cannot change. Preference will be given to designs that can keep the general layout of the right hand side of the app. The client is most unhappy with the layout of the buttons on the left section, maybe something using more of a table layout would be an option.
