The overall goal is to create an image that expresses Jesus’ concern for the environment, or “Green Jesus” as I will refer to it below. The image must be reproducible as a poster size work, 24 inch x 36 inch. Please begin by clicking on a failed attempt to create this poster below. It is the 20th download entitled, "unsuccessful Green Jesus attempt." It will give you a general idea of the scope of the project. This artist chose to paint in her sketch, but if an artist had good blending skills in photoshop they could just drag and drop most of the images I've provided, however the poster can be created in any medium including acrylic, oil, colored pencil, water color, etc, just as long as it has the detail I need and can be “blown up” to poster size.
A general description of the "Green Jesus" image: the image will have animals flowing out of a jungle background in loose columns as depicted in “The Bear Dance” image provided. The animals are moving toward Jesus who is in the foreground gathered with various animals around a “Last Supper” type scene as in DaVinci’s famous painting, see attached also. That’s it.
Future work for the winner: I have 5 other projects like this one, so whoever wins this contest, will probably be asked to do the other five as well. Please begin by submitting a rough sketch so I know you understand the basic layout as modeled in “The Bear Dance” image (see attached)"
It is critical to recreate the layout of "The Bear Dance" image to create "Green Jesus," so let me explain it. The Bear Dance has three distinct levels (background, mid ground, and foreground). The first level shows bears in the far distance streaming out of a forest, mostly in two loose columns (like animals streaming toward Noah’s Ark). The bears are indistinguishable at this far distance but soon gain clarity as they spill out onto the “mid ground” and gather there in various human like poses (playing instruments, dancing, lounging around, and appearing to chat). In the foreground, you have a large group of bears dancing, eating and drinking with overturned bottles of wine and grapes.
Now that you have some understanding of "The Bear Dance" layout, this is how I want you to use that layout to create “Green Jesus.”
In the distant back ground of the “Green Jesus” image I want animals streaming out of a jungle moving toward Jesus in the foreground, like the streaming bears in “The Bear Dance,” but unlike “The Bear Dance” image, I want a variety of animals coming out of a jungle (see the model for the jungle style attached). Be sure to include some of the jungle models colorful birds, bananas, monkeys, flowers, etc, or just drag and drop it in Photoshop, and deleting the naked woman of course.
As in “The Bear Dance” the animals flowing out the jungle in columns begin to gather in the middle ground. On this middle ground, I want a variety of animals gathering (not just bears) and at the center of this gathering I want an image that I’ve provided of a "skeleton clutching a young lion next to a dead Elephant.” (see image attached). This critical image symbolizes the threat to the environment. Around this skeleton image add lions crouching in threatening postures as in the “Daniel in the Lion’s Den” images I’ve provided as models. Then, on the same middle ground, either left or right of the skeleton image, I would like the “Bear Band” (see image attached) to reinforce the celebratory mood of the image and to balance the horror of the skeleton image. This is a celebration, even though death is present.
In the foreground of “The Bear Dance” image (below the rocky ledge), you see a large group of bears dancing and eating and a table to the left with grapes and overturned bottles of wine on it (include these bottles and grapes with goblets in your image, it’s a party man). It is in the center of this foreground that I want you to create a “Last Supper” type scene as modeled in DaVinci’s image, but unlike DaVinci’s image I want Jesus (see 2 models for Jesus attached) standing behind a rustic wooden table, with his head tilted slightly upward, and his arms out-stretched to the heavens, with various animals gathered around the table like the disciples in DaVinci’s painting. For models of the animals to put around the table, see “Takino's Noah's Ark image” attached (be creative in positioning the animals), but I specifically need you to use “the roaring lion beside Jesus” image that I provided to put at the side of Jesus at the table (but give the lion teeth) with a little lamb beside the lion.
Lastly, in this foreground, I want you to heighten the sense of celebration by working in the “two dancing bears” image I’ve attached, and the “Goats bringing grapes to the feast” image I’ve attached. There are also angels that I’ve attached (one angel should be riding on an elephant, the other flying over head perhaps (the peacock angel), and maybe one in the foreground as you see in the failed attempt to create this image).
On the far right of this foreground it is important to include the half snake, half human image curled around the tree as models in “The Garden of Eden” images (see three possible models attached). Just add bright red apples in the tree please.
You can be creative within these guidelines but as you can see, I want some very specific things.
