Design an epic Save the Date postcard for an Association meeting in D.C.

American Association of Cosmetology Schools (more commonly referred to as AACS)

Founded in 1924, we are a national, non-profit association open to all privately owned schools of cosmetology arts & sciences. Our membership in comprised of cosmetology, skin, nail, barbering and massage schools.

AACS specializes in updating members with information about new teaching methods, current industry events and Washington, DC updates. We do this through a series of seminars, conferences and conventions held throughout the year. Most of all, AACS members act as a family, often helping each other with addressing problems facing beauty education. This “networking” is often listed as the most important benefit to membership.

For those schools that participate in Title IV funding, AACS lobbies Congress and the Department of Education aggressively to protect the interests of private career schools. AACS is your representative in Washington, DC.

We are needing a Save the Date postcard to send to members for an event in 2018. This event will be our annual school leaders’ summit for our school owners, and it will also include a day of engaging with congressmen on Capitol Hill. The audience are experienced business owners with a passion for public policy affecting their schools. They are also in the beauty/fashion industry, and gravitate towards modern, fresh, high-end design.

We would like the design of this to be bold, fresh, modern, and graphic - but still have a touch of that traditional DC feel. Simplicity is better than overly designed or complicated (we will be creating a full marketing campaign later this year with a separate look and feel, so simple is best for this save the date)
Bright photos of the US Capitol Building would be great, especially photos with a sunrise or sunset alluding to the Enlightened theme of the event. We'd like something more interesting than just words over a photo.
I’ve attached our logo in various colors, images of our past event materials for reference (does not need to be visually similar), and example images for inspiration (you can find your preferrred images on Adobe Photostock if you would like a different direction - no need to stick to just these). Even open to illustrations if it's bold and modern.
