AIMS OF THE FLYER
The Institute seeks a new design for a direct marketing flyer advertising summer reading skills programs, which is distributed to parents through preschools and daycare centers.
The aim of the new design is to generate more inquiries than the flyer we currently distribute to preschools and daycare centers –the existing flyer has been uploaded.
The design should also appeal to teachers, so that they will be encouraged to distribute the flyer to parents picking their children up from school. The design must also appeal to parents, to encourage them to read the flyer..
The successful design will embody the fun and excitement young children feel about learning to read, and something of the world of meaning and adventure that can be found in children’s books. We have uploaded sample images that have the right feel (“design inspirations”).
The primary audience for the flyer is teachers and parents of preschoolers (4-year-olds) though first graders (6-year-olds), and this fact should guide your design emphasis.
The flyer describes five different reading programs: a program for 4-year-olds and Kindergartners, a program for 1st graders, a program for 2nd graders, a program for 3rd graders, and a program for 4th and 5th graders.Inquiries from the current flyer break out in the following proportions:
Program for 4-year-olds and Kindergartners: 66%
1st grade program: 16%
2nd grade program: 8.5%
3rd grade prorgam: 5%
4th & 5th grade program 4.5%
