Our target audience is healthcare professionals (Doctors, Nurses, Therapists and other caregivers) who truly want to give patients the best, most personalized care possible. You see, in Medical School students are trained to do many wonderful things. But they are not given much (if any) instruction on the unique differences among patients from different cultures, spiritual traditions, disability backgrounds, and generational divides. With this book, we hope to change that.
In healthcare, it is so important to understand as much about a patient’s background as you can—so that you can provide more personalized patient care. This book can help. It can help doctors and nurses to treat each patient as the unique individual that they are.
Think about it. If your mother or father, brother or sister, son or daughter was in the hospital, wouldn’t you want the doctor to be sensitive to their needs? Wouldn’t you want the nurse to show compassion and understanding?
Here’s our goal: all patients coming to a hospital will receive the same level of excellent service and personalized care no matter their age, gender, race, disability, or any other patient attribute. You can help make that happen!! Please help us by designing an awesome, attractive, non-boring cover that doctors, nurses and other healthcare professionals will WANT to pick up and read.
This is going to be an oversized, hardcover, 4-color book, with no dust jacket. In your hand it will probably feel like a textbook or reference book. So that’s a lot of space on the cover to design with.
FEEL: We would like this book to have a warm feeling that is both professional and attractive. Generally speaking we like we like clean, bright designs with fresh, vibrant colors and concepts. But the design also needs to speak of compassion.
KEY WORDS TO CONSIDER WHEN DESIGNING: Healthcare, Professional, Compassion, Personal, Spiritual, and Cultural
2 THINGS WE DON’T WANT: 1) Avoid a “clinical” (i.e. boring) look; 2) We probably want to steer clear any obvious religious imagery such as a Christian cross.
