Design needs
The book consists mainly of Alex on the run from a ruthless secret society called Vita Aeterna, and trying to solve the mystery of what has happened to him. (A medical experiment extended his life expectancy to almost 500 years)

The world is divided into 3 classes: A tiny Elite of ultra-wealthy living in a walled-in paradise called the First Circle, a larger group of workers for the corporations who service them, and a vastly larger group living in extreme poverty. I conceive of the cover as featuring a dark background of a crumbling city, maybe with a figure running? I had an idea of having an image in the distance of the wall surrounding the impossibly opulent First Circle – an image of the 'pearly gates' to paradise might be a good symbol to use. What attracted me to the current cover was the figure standing at the end of a long road, contemplating an unknown future. That is how I visualize Alex.
