Jacknames.com is the name of my domain name business. I buy and sell domain names, as well as develop / park / etc. I setup the website to be a GoDaddy affiliate and allow customers to register their domain names at the cheapest prices.
Primarily the way that this business is going to make money from it's web visitors is :
(1) Getting them to register a domain name;
(2) Getting them to buy one of our domain names;
(3) Getting them to buy webhosting;
(4) Getting them to signup for domain parking;
(5) Getting them to click an ad.
The target audience are domain name owners. We are targetting a younger, internet-savvy audience.
I've already got creative that I'd like you to incorporate into the site. You can see the current logo at http://www.tilt.fm/jacknames/ . I'm uploading all the .eps files after I type this.
Please take a look at some of the other domain registration sites and you'll see that they are cluttered and ugly and make you feel like you are constantly trying to upsell them. I want Jacknames.com to appear to be a more information-heavy site where we teach people how to register, what to register, and how to make money off of their domain names.
I'd like to see something very simple using the existing logo and characters. It would be nice if there was a prominent form to input a domain name to register. Our domain registration pricing is going to be a major selling point, so that should be there as well.
There also has to be some links (icons?) which will lead the visitor to other things... domain resources like forums, auction houses, domainer blogs, 99designs.com, etc. And I plan on having some domainer videos and articles.
I have adsense setup as a possible ad stream, so if you wanted to incorporate that into your design, or some similar ad stream, that would be cool too.
