Success Story
Every PAGE is a STORY.
SuccessStory is a unique corporate training and consultancy company that uses STORYTELLING techniques and STORY DESIGN tools to help companies and leaders with innovation, strategic design, problem-solving, team-building and more.
We combine Hollywood storytelling technique and theory, and apply it to the business world. We help organizations understand story principles, so they can identify WHERE they are in their story, and where they WANT to be — We help them design a “Success Story” that will get them there.
We offer public workshops, private training for companies, and individual one-on-one consultancy for business leaders and organizations.
EDIT:
We need a website that will appeal to CORPORATE visitors, but will also give a feeling of HUMAN creativity (so they can see how to infuse creativity into their business).
Every page on our site will be a STORY -- and this should come across VISUALLY as well. The "Beginning" paragraph(s) and image(s) are at the top... then we're guided visually through the "Middle" paragraph(s) and image(s) in the middle of the page... and finally we're guided visually through the "End" paragraph(s) and image(s) at the bottom.
We are looking for primarily ABSTRACT graphics, and illustrated shapes and design elements (instead of photos) that evoke STORY. Should be a CLEAN style with story text and hand-drawn notes that make it look like we're writing on the page -- DESIGNING the story they're reading.
Our website should appeal to ANY industry -- and inject CREATIVITY and INNOVATION as a theme into the website’s design. We imagine abstract backgrounds and styles, along with perhaps hand-drawn schematics or plans that “map out” the storybuilding process (as if we've written on the page)... but we're open to your creative ideas that guide the visitor’s eye through the “story” of each page.
We imagine each page to be a story — the front page is the story of SuccessStory (and why STORY is the new tool of business innovation), and we would like to incorporate our “Story Timeline” graphic (attached — which you can redraw in the style of your design, but keep the 3 sections). And we would like each section (Beginning/Middle/End) to HIGHLIGHT as the user scrolls down the page and sees that "section" of the page's story. (See attached.)
We welcome your creativity and innovation! But note that we're thinking clean easy-to-read fonts (eg Open Sans) along with hand-drawn graphic elements, so that it looks like we are "building" the story, as the user's eye is guided down the page.
Every page takes the visitor on a story JOURNEY. The graphics/imagery should guide the visitor down the page visually.
Page 1 / Home page: Overview of what we do and the “story” of how it works. A large "jumbotron" type welcome image (i.e., full width above the fold) with the tag line "Every PERSON is a story" (NOTE: the word "person" will cycle through a series of words -- "business", "product", "innovation", "page", "city"... etc. -- and end with the word "success"). As the user scrolls down, the Timeline would hover... and highlight to correspond with each part of the "story" of the page.
Page 2 is an internal page: We'll use it for the “story” of our content. For the contest, it will be the story of our WORKSHOP programs. Should include sections for “upcoming dates”, booking links, calendar, map, etc (for multiple upcoming workshops in different cities. The "end" of the story (bottom of the page) is a call-to-action to join us (enrol, contact us, etc). We are based in Australia and the US, and work with clients around the globe, so the design should have "world" type elements.
We will add additional pages once we settle on a design with the contest winner.
Generic stock-standard corporate designs. Copycat websites. Small hard-to-read text.
We are looking for something creative and innovative that is fun and human... and evokes the idea of STORY.
Every page's text and sections will read like a STORY, with a start, an end, and a few twists along the way. As long as the visuals "guide" the reader through the story of the page, we look forward to seeing what you imagine! Good luck!
