EarlyBirds.NET (the NET is capitalized on purpose. We couldn't get the .com, so we want to emphasize the .NET part)
We currently run a site called EstateSales.NET which is very popular (4 to 5 million page views each month). We are planning to set up a similar site that will have a much more broad appeal. EstateSales.NET is just for estate sales. EarlyBirds.NET will have garage sales, estate sales, and auctions listed on it.
There are certainly other garage sale sites out there, but we want to be known as THE go to place for all types of sales. We need an incredible design to help make this goal a reality.
We have a pretty broad market in terms of age, but I would say that most of the users are in the 30 to 60 range. Definitely 20+ (no kids for sure)
We called it "Early Birds" because the people that go to these types of sales like to get up EARLY and be the first there.
- 960px width so it works with 1024 resolution width
- the home page will have a map similar to the one on EstateSales.NET with a color change of course
- the home page should have a "featured sales" section.
- please remember that your design has to be turned into HTML/CSS. We like creative, but don't go crazy making something that is really hard to support in HTML/CSS. :)
The menu should have the following:
- Home
- Find Sales
- Search Items
- Blog
- My Account
You can tell by EstateSales.NET that we like a clean/crisp looking side, but we have another site called AntiqueMalls.com that shows we are open to very creative designs as well.
We do not have a logo, so it would be great to see your ideas for that with your web site design.
Overall, we want a fun site that people will enjoy coming to in order to find the sales they are interested in. We don't want a corporate looking site. We don't need it coded. All we need is the PSD.
Please let me know if you need ANY other details!
UPDATE: There needs to be a section at the bottom (or somewhere) for the visitor to sign up to be notified about upcoming sales. It just needs to have a spot for them to enter their email. Please see the bottom of EstateSales.NET to see how we did it there...it doesn't have to be the same, but it will show on all pages of the site. So, it needs to be in the footer or header or something.
UPDATE 2: There needs to be a spot for people to list their sale. There should probably be a call to action button that says "List My Sale Now" or something similar.
