Toeheadz is a hip and trendy website for children's clothing & shoes (and eventually toys). We want to come across as cool and hip, but not too kid-like, as we are marketing mostly to mom's. Funky, cool, and fun is our personality. We want kids to have the opportunity to be just as stylish as adults.
Typically mothers or very hip fathers (or any person) buying hip clothing for a child. The audience is stylish and hip and someone who appreciates cool clothing for kids.
We are currently working with Yahoo to create the functionality of the website; however, we need to provide them with the overall design layout. We want the website to be funky and fun and very appealing to mothers who are shopping for cool & fashionable kids.
We currently have a logo that simply states the name of our company (rather than an image or graphic element). We would like to come up with a design element for the website that helps to defines us.
At one point a designer presented us with an image of owl that was rather interesting. We were intrigued by this and thought it was an interesting concept. We have seen cool sites with trees and owls and other interesting elements that are built into the site (rather than just the logo), so perhaps we can move in that direction. However, it doesn't necessary have to be an owl, tree, etc...we are very open.
Keep in mind that this a retail site and will have many different images with clothing and shoes and so we also don't want it too be too busy.
We like our logo, but the plaid around the logo can be broken up and integrated into the site in some other capacity. However, we want it known that we really like the plaid.
Below are a few pages that Yahoo put together for us. We like the functionality but NOT the design. Also, our logo is attached as "toeheadz winner". Some product photos included as well.
