Create a website design to popularize philosophical ideas

1000 idées de culture générale

I am french and my website is in french.

My website is entitled « 1000 idées de culture générale », which means in english « 1000 ideas of general culture ». It is affiliated to a textbook I wrote which has the same name (see on Amazon : https://www.amazon.fr/id%C3%A9es-cu…LEVRH0/ref.

The existing website is presented as a blog, but I want the new one to be a website, not a blog.

What my website aims at doing is very simple : explaining in very clear and synthetical articles the most important ideas of well known thinkers (the goal is to popularize elitist knowledge). Therefore, every article (about 500-600 words) deals with only one idea, for instance « Religious tolerance according to Voltaire », « The method of science according to Descartes », « Democracy according to Plato », etc. The quality of our articles is very high : « 1000 idées de culture générale » offers the best french articles on every general culture idea it deals with.

Every article is considered a « post-it » for its synthetical dimension and because the logo of « 1000 idées de culture générale » is a sculpture (representing classical knowledge) with post-its on it (see attached file or website).

I want everything in the design to be thought in accordance with the concept of the website.

The middle-long terme of the website is to become the french number 1 website in the general culture category with thousands of very high quality articles. More precisely, we would like to make general culture books useless.

The more precise business goals of the website are :
- getting e-mail adresses (I have both an optinmoster and a mailchimp account) ;
- getting Facebook likes ;
- promoting the book.

I want the design to be simple and very beautiful, because I want it to reflect the very high quality of the articles.

There are already a few design specifications that need to be taken from the book cover (see attached file) :
- color n°1 : #78195c
- color n°2 : #f9a15d
- color n°3 : white
- the logo (see attached file) on which can be added flying post-its
- post-its
- font of the book cover : different Gotham fonts

I would like to add a photo of me (see attached, I will try to have it in color) with my name presenting me as the founder and publication director of the website.

1. The homepage :

It should be simple and extremely beautiful.

Its aims are :
a. getting e-mails (in exchange for an excerpt of the textbook and full access to articles) ;
b. getting Facebook likes ;
c. displaying articles ("post-its ») in a way that markets them and makes people want to read it ;
d. marketing the text book (like on the existing website/blog) ;
e. displaying social proofs : I have written for the Huffington Post, the textbook has been a bestseller on Amazon, is sold at the FNAC (a french high quality bookstore, see here : http://www.fnac.com/).

2. The generic article (« post-it ») page :

It should also be simple and extremely beautiful.

It should have a widget (on the right or the left, as you think best) where to put the widgets that are on the existing blog.

Its aims are :
a. displaying the title ;
b. displaying an image in a Facebook format ;
c. displaying the article (« post-it ») in a very beautiful font, without a date ;
d. asking the reader for its e-mail address ;
e. displaying several other articles ("post-its") related to the same topic ;
f. displaying amazon sponsored links of books related to the same topic (see for instance a current article : http://1000-idees-de-culture-genera…rousseau/).
