Eilís Leyne needs a new book or magazine cover

I am publishing my novel as an ebook on Kindle, and I want a Kindle cover that will look great in either color or black & white, and at the very small size--roughly postage-stamp size--used for Kindle icons. The title of the book is Wicked Gods. It is a tense culture war thriller featuring religious secrets, political corruption, hate-mongering shock-jocks, and a beleaguered group of scholars committed to revealing painful truths, no matter what the personal costs. I want the cover the convey a vibe of spiritual mystery and dark menace—but nothing bloody. The novel features a variety of exotic cultures and shadowy figures, but there is nothing supernatural in the plot. The general message of the book is the triumph of rationality over superstition and bigotry. I will entertain all design ideas, but I particularly like the figure of a snake biting its own tail. It has been used since ancient times in many different spiritual traditions as a symbol of cyclicality, completeness, alchemy. It might also symbolize self-defeating irrationality. Other possible symbols that would work well with the plot are mazes, religious medallions, religious idols, and ancient books and scrolls. I am attaching my own rough draft of a design, but you do not need to feel constrained by it. Please provide me with both a color and a B&W version of your design, so I can see how it would look both ways. One more note, my first name has an accent in it—Eilís Leyne.

In addition to the Kindle cover, I want a highly simplified black & white version of the main desgin motif to use throughout the book as a section divider. It shouldn't take up more than one standard print line of space.
