Help iSpiny with a new logo

We make iPhone and iPad apps about birds and bird song. We intend to expand into areas of nature and wildlife in future.

Although we are open to variations on this idea, we think that we want a logo that shows a walking hedgehog (as seen in the attached photo). The iSpiny business of iPhone apps grew out of our older business Spiny Software, which has a simple line drawing of a hedgehog as its logo (attached). We no longer develop anything under the name Spiny Software, but I would like to keep the link with the hedgehog, and would like it to be active because the apps are for mobile devices. I particularly like the walking hedgehog in the photo because it looks happy (its spines are down) and I like the way the raised front leg makes it look purposeful. This is a hedgehog with places to go, things to do! We would like the logo to be clean, simple, probably monochrome and maybe slightly quirky. We currently use Palatino for the name but this can be changed. We don't want a design that is cartoon-like or aimed at children as our customers include many older people. Our customers are animal and nature lovers of all ages, equally male/female. I have also attached the icons for two of our apps for general information.
