Create an original label for a startup boutique Côtes du Rhône red wine

Our product is a red Côtes du Rhône wine blended from three traditional grapes. Although it carries the basic Côtes du Rhône appellation the quality of the wine punches well above its weight and will carry a heftier price tag than its competition. Our target audience is French loving wine drinkers mostly in the United States and United Kingdom with possibility for expansion to other countries in the future (particularly in Asia).

I require a wine label that will convey the heritage of a French southern Côtes du Rhône wine but at the same time, appeal to a mostly English speaking (Anglo-American) customer. The wine will be called, 'le Vendangeur', or in English, 'the Harvester'. This is a challenge because it is a wine that has to balance its old-world origins while still being able to appeal to a wide spectrum of potential wine drinkers in terms of age and nationality.

In general I would most likely favor a submission with a boldly colored wine label prominently showing the harvester that is more illustrative in nature. I am attracted to beautiful, bold, appealing and colorful images that would tweak someone's interest immediately on a store shelf or on a website. The designer that can balance those desires and perhaps leave a nod to tradition on the label would be in the running. For additional perspective I particularly love Italian wine labels from Piedmont and Tuscany. I have uploaded a few - please look at them to get a feel for my aesthetic. Some labels I love may have old crests and other ancient symbols but others have images of beautiful and colorful birds, hills with trees and gnarly vines or just beautiful bunches of grapes - I love them all but am particularly attached to colorful, bold images with an interestingly drawn person - even if it looked like a well drawn illustration from animation (didn't want to say cartoon). This is my first time using the site so thank you for your patience. I will attempt to be very direct in my feedback so that I get the perfect wine label. Please remember that I don't necessarily go for the understated labels preferring instead something more bold and immediately appealing - a label that tells a story in one image while avoiding cliché. Please have a look at the last image I've uploaded. This is my friend harvesting in summer of 2013. An illustrative type image using this as a model with a French looking harvester with gnarly vines or an interesting background would go a long way to satisfying my goal.
