The Basketball Tournament is a yearly event where 64 basketball teams (made up of ex-NBA players & NBA hopefuls) compete for a $1 Million winner-take-all prize. Games are broadcast on ESPN and streamed online. Each team needs their own name and logo, which they use not only for their uniforms, but for merchandise, fundraising, and driving a strong team following.
This year 99designs by Vistaprint is the official design partner for TBT, and helping new teams generate logos for the first time, or existing teams re-think their logos.
We [Golden Eagles] are looking for a new team logo.
Our team, the Golden Eagles, are the defending Champions of the tournament. We’ve been wanting to rebrand for a while, to an image that is “tougher” and more intimidating than the one we have now. The old name for our team was The Warriors - which is controversial - so we don't want to go full on Warrior here but we'd like to invoke some images like that. Of a warrior and an eagle combined somehow.
We prefer logos to be straight on (the eagle facing you) rather than looking at the eagle from the side.
