By making the \"H\" and \"Y\" shapes the same the illusion of a reflection in water could be achieved. To give the design depth varying thickness were used. As yachts come in many shapes and sizes I didn't want to use a real silhouette. The colours were chosen based on an idyllic sea such as in the Bahamas.")

The icon can be rotated 180 degrees to read exactly the same but in the colours are reversed.
As the icon is a strong image, the font and styling of the text have been kept low key. The font is Bank Gothic with the W, M and A modified to balance with the icon. This font was chosen as the shapes again reflect the \"Chicago Loop\" particularly the \"O\" and therefore create a harmony between the icon and text.")

By turning the text 45 degrees the NO and GO can be read in 2 directions further emphasising that part of the name.
The 3 parts are linked by a happy line both outlined and solid. The composition also looks balanced.

The logo design suggests a designer bathroom with a hint of wall tiling and aqua for water.")

- Hexagons / piles to represent the origin of the name.
- O and I connect the pile and hexagon shapes into POSTPILE and form the transition.
- The combination of the piles and hexagons can be seen as a forest (negative space) - to represent the outdoors (particularly for people who aren't familiar with the National Monument - I'm Australian and didn't know about it until this contest.)
- The text is can be seen as either under or in the \"tree canopy\" to give the idea of outdoors and camping. (depends whether you look at the positive or negative space)
- The font used is \"Avenir Next\" but each letter has been modified slightly. This font unmodified would be suitable for your general use in all its weights.
- POSTPILE with the 2 hexagons can be used as a standalone image.")

By using the \"X\" rather than the \"E\" it emphasises the \"ex\" and gives a dynamic to the logo.
The fresh green colour was chosen to complement the red-brown on the facade as well as give life to the design.

The 75 is the main feature around which the other parts work to tell the whole picture of your business
- The design is contained in a box with only 75% of the border - the food you supply
- the bottom open border represents the 25% exercise by the customer
- \"In A Box\" is contained within the 75 with \"BOX\" being the most contained to emphasise that idea.
- the black is used as the container with the orange and green for the fresh food that you supply.
- the white text is a finer line so that the 75 is the dominant part.
- The slogan is included within the design using the green.")
Chi siamo
Graphic design is my passion in retirement after a career as an Architect.
Since retiring, I've been practicing my graphic design skills on greeting cards and prints which I sell online via Etsy and eBay stores. I also sell my designs on merchandise via Redbubble.
I'm intrigued by and love exploring logos and how they can communicate more than just a name. The same thought processes used as an architect are now used when designing a logo.
